Guys, please don't get this stove. It isn't any better than the $10 ones you can get off of Amazon, which fit the same fuel canister, and are just as small, light and durable. No reason to throw your money away here

adeadheadActually, I got one of those cheap stoves you brag about on Amazon, a Firemaple 117T. Biggest piece of crap ever, as the thread casing loosened and could no longer tighten onto an isobutane canister after about 5 uses! I even showed it to Hikin' Jim at one of those GGGGGG Gatherings (whatever the heck they call them these days), and he agreed the manufacturing for that unit was shoddy. So you take a huge gamble with those stoves as far as I'm concerned.
adeadhead"This is the stove I mean, ... they last me 4-5 months of nearly daily use."
Quite the ringing endorsement for "you get what you pay for!" I'd be willing to bet that with this Snow Peak stove that is offered here, you'd get considerably longer than your 4-5 months of use. I don't use my Snow Peak every day (as you say you do), but for the 3+ years that I've owned it--and used it regularly, it has worked flawlessly, and I expect many more years from it.
adeadheadDude why are you dictating to people what to buy with their money? Would it be fair for me to come on to a drop and say, "Guys don't buy this Chinese knock off, made under questionable labor practices, and a similar model has been banded in the EU"? I don't think so.
adeadheadNotice that the Etekcity is 4.8 oz., (stainless and aluminum), as listed in your Amazon link; the SnowPeak listed here is 1.9 oz. (titanium and aluminum). In the world of lightweight backpacking, that's a big difference, even assuming the two stoves are made equally well.
adeadheadI started with a BRS3000T from Amazon and the one you linked is not even as good as the one I purchased. On both the pivoting supports are not beefy enough to withstand the heat and they bend. The one you linked just looks cheap and the supports really look to be under engineered. For an overnight trip the cheap ones will probably work fine but for an extended through hike I want a better stove. The snow peak tested out good and has very good reviews. For the price I couldn't pass it up.
