I love them. I've had a similar product for going on 5 years. I use them in Yosemite Nat'l Park when we go snowshoeing every year. they are great on thicker ice. I prefer to not wear them on thin coatings of snow, as they tend to punch through snow and get scrapped dull on sidewalks, etc. I have a different type of shoe cleat that I use on snow and think ice. I save these for the thick stuff or steep inclines where sliding could have a far worse downside.

These micro-cleats are the best thing since sliced bread! We just hiked Camels Hump in Vermont 10/26/18 and it snowed the entire time, on top of the 4" of existing snow and ice. These cleats made life much easier and secure for all six of it, who all had different versions from the same manufacturer. The PRO cleats are built a bit stronger, but all of them worked just fine. For backpacking, it's choose the NON-PRO version, but then again, I am an ounce counter and reduce weight where ever I can.

I really like these cleats and they provide great traction in icy conditions. My only complaint is that they feel a bit squishy when there is no snow cover. Maybe that is to be expected with this aggressive of a cleat, but I don't get the same feeling with a wire style cleat.

Have to say...ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED impressed with the quality of every single part of these. I expected much less for the money. Really, really glad I dummied-up and got them. Have probably fallen on the ice during four of the last 6 winters. Been lucky so far, but enough is enough. Did need them shortly after they arrived and they were rock steady on the ice. Great, no slip grip. If I were blessed with 4 feet, I'd buy another pair.

I have used them on mount Vitosha in Bulgaria made noticeable difference on strain on my knees it was much easier with them hiking to to the peak in snow
