Sometimes I really wonder where Massdrop gets these overinflated MSRPs... These cost $25 on the company website (with free shipping). The discount code "WOOLWARM" even gets you $5 off the first pack in your order.
I feel like a lot of the time, companies want to use Massdrop as a way to advertise to a huge audience of hobbyists, but at the same time, try to dip out on actually offering us any real savings. This isn't really much of a deal, honestly - unless you're buying like three or four packs, I would just buy from the website.
That being said, these look like really nice socks and I've been looking for a new set (the Richer Poorer socks I got were trash, I threw them out after the first wash). These seem to have a really good blend of fabrics, though I'd like to know the percentages of each material used in the fabric blend. Are these also made with merino wool?
IanAndersonI would really hate to feel as though they jacked up the price on the socks to make this drop look better. Nowhere on the page did they mention an MSRP of $45 when I looked this morning...
autoteleologyActually it IS $45 flat from socksquare. Each pair of socks is $9.00 each and in this drop we're getting 5 pairs of socks. On their website you do in fact get free shipping over $40 so the total would come out to $45 exact.

BaconismeatcandyIt says that now, but less than 12 hours ago, it said "$25.00 (was $35.00)". I may have the page still open on my desktop at home, if so, I'll post a screencap. They changed it within the last 12 hours (right after I pointed it out, actually).
I'll probably still buy these, because in the end the price is roughly the same, but it still seems like someone is trying to pull off some horse hockey.
autoteleologyHmm, interesting. I checked earlier in the the week when I was putting together the drop and it wasn't there then.
Either way, $18 + $5 shipping < $25 + $3 shipping, so we should be fine, yeah? :)

It'd be safe to say that these are not merino wool.
