I am really looking forward to this... after all the positive reviews I ended up getting a zoom h1n and I gotta say I was a bit disappointed... handling noise, form factor, over zealous auto level, long start up time, horrible menus, no hold option for gain level... the list goes on. Not to mention that although it does have a studio sound, my viewers actually prefer the on board audio from my a7sii for its ability to capture stereo ambiance sounds and capture my voice which sounds much more crisp and natural than the zoom h1n... I guess this is all just a preference thing but when I tried the Sony Icd ux recorder to match the sound profile of my on board audio I realized I made a huge mistake buying into the zoom hype. Now this is on sale for half the price and I am wishfully hoping that I can use it to clip on my talent like a lav mic without going through all the hassles of getting a lav mic out, untangleing the wires etc etc and get the same crisp audio I expect from Sony... maybe wishful thinking but for this price I am willing to try

LiveTravelAsiaI question whether this device would be useful for field or music recording due to the lack of a mic input. And since the "crispness" of the recording involves the sound of the mic, I'd still prefer an IDC-SX2000.
