What is with the huge popularity in lockpicking sets? Are you all locksmiths or what? Do you lose all of yours keys often? Do you pick locks to pass time? Is it for some kind of B.O.B. Just curious. I'm not inferring you're all burglars.

FutureFossilIn my case more a curiosity and a bit of use when some family member locks their keys in the car again.
FutureFossilI mispent much of my youth making lockpicks out of trash and attempting to gain entry unlawfully; i just unlock lost key houses and padlocks mostly for fun, partially for teotwawki.

FutureFossilI am not that skilled at picking locks. Basically if I can pick the lock I deem that it sucks and I need to buy a better lock to replace it.

FutureFossilI am a locksmith apprentice and this kit does not interest me at all. The picks we use are from a different company and a far better value. I imagine these sets interest mostly "Hobbiests".

FutureFossilMy father passed away recently and many of his valuables were left in lock boxes around his house. I've been unable to find the keys, and I don't want to tear up the lock boxes, so I'm hoping these will help me pick them. Other than that, I've just always been interested in learning how to use them, even though I'm not a thief.

FutureFossilfor most its like anything else..knowledge and fun to tinker. for B.O. B id just kick the door in or use the handy dandy crowbar/hammer/axe uber tactical tool in my bag to force/ break/ etc. besides by then the LAW wouldn't be an issue. .
