I've changed my mind about these watches since the last time they dropped. Going forward--I'm boycotting anything and anyone that contributes to deforestation in any way. I encourage you to watch Michael Moore's* latest film "Planet of The Humans" to learn why you should too.

You can watch the whole thing for free on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk11vI-7czE And before you start thinking to yourself: "but wait, these watches only use a tiny amount of wood", let me remind you that no one chops down tiny trees...

*PS: Michael Moore produced the documentary, he doesn't appear in the film or add narration.

There is none--it's all that foil hat, Pizza-gate nonsense. Best to just drop it at this point.

DISREGARD my original comment below and refer to this link expressing my UPDATED point of view: https://drop.com/buy/spinnaker-vessel-quartz-watch/talk/2614577 Not sure why everyone is giving these poor Spinnakers a hard time--lord knows we've seen worse looking watches around here! I guarantee you if the identical watch had a fancy-pants Swiss name, an automatic movement, and was selling for four-grand--these same mugs would be telling you what nice watches they are! Hell, I'd wear one--I like the stainless version. They're inexpensive quartz watches--probably keep time as well anything else you've got in your drawer and last as long too. I say buy 'em if you like 'em!

RayF*golden shovel award goes to me* Anyway, I think Spinnaker as a brand goes right direction. Their recent releases look solid and more well-thought. I must admit, I would take Bradner, Tesei or original (before it was re-done) Sorrento anytime.

Ordering the dark wood with black screws for my son. He got a similar really cheap watch for Christmas from a poor uncle, and the second hand already popped off, and it's not keeping time. This one looks better and I assume it will work better as well

Be advised that if you lose a part from just the bracelet, Spinnaker requires the entire watch to be sent back to them, at your expense. They will not send any part to you, even if it's just for the bracelet.

That lume shot is so laughably bad.... I got a wood watch as a gift that was made by original grain. Thank god it’s too huge for me to wear. So ugly. These too. Wood seems like a terrible material for something you wear.

BeastMDDiscovered that when I ordered a pair of Bubinga wood boxers a while back--too scratchy, and lots of splinters in all the wrong places!

Let’s put 60 seconds on the clock and have at it. I got wood! Can be used for kindling in emergencies! I’m kind of a big deal. My apartment smells of leather bound books and rich mahogany watches. Happy New Year!

is this automatic or battery operated?

JustFluxzAutomatic watches (same as self-winding watches), are battery free. Quartz watches generally require a battery (90% of them) but there are Solar variants (still quartz, still have a battery, but the battery/power storage device, is charged by light or sun). There you go, that's everything you need to know to claim you too are a watch expert, going forward ;- )

RayFYeah, I read a bit about it yesterday. I originally thought quartz was referring to a brand of one of the parts.
