FWIW, missed out on this drop, bought one through Amazon...delivered yesterday.  I bought the camo scales, silver blade.  Paid $115, was charged tax, etc.  You're going to like this knife!  It's everything you've read about it (Amazon Reviews).  My best EDC up to this point was/is a Ken Onion Shenanigan I got through w00t (Amazon's sister clearance company) for the unbelievable price of $20 + $5 shipping some months back.  IIRC it was or is a $60 retail knife (MSRP), the blade is very nice, takes a good edge and holds it.  I strop it on compounds/leather to bring it back to life, instead of taking it to a 1 K synthetic stone but had to go back there occasionally
In regards to the Spyderco Para Military 2, it came with a wicked edge, feels fantastic in my right hand.  The choiling on either side of the blade is welcomed, balance is there, it just feels like I got my monies worth.  IOW, I didn't mind spending $100 + on it at all, after getting it, using it
I'd go as far as to say the edge is as sharp as surgical steel, and you're not going to want to use the tip of the blade to pry anything, you would ruin it so don't do it.  As hard as this steel is, remember, only cut what is not as hard as it
FWIW2, when I bought the Shenanigan from w00t, I bought two so I could give one to my carpenter. I touched the edge up before giving it to him like I did with mine (1K, 5K strop on cutting compounds and finished on green, all on leather).  A month later he brings it back to me asking me to touch it up.  Looked like he cut wire with it on several parts of the blade.  A trip on 600 grit synthetic stone, then the rest on the aforementioned progression and it was good to go but really, use these for what they were intended to cut.  You want to cut wire, use a side cutter (dyke)
