Massdrop is total bullshit, prices are same with current price tags as always,
Doesn't matter on watches or knives, here are price of current production lines of para military models;

txt979We have a winner! Everytime a Spyderco drops someone points out that the price is the same without actually reading the posting. This is the same knife as on BladeHQ but it comes with a case you don't get there. However if you don't want the case, you get a $15 credit to your order, making it cheaper than everywhere else.
txt979Dead wrong... but you're welcome to leave and buy somewhere that makes you happy. Sometimes MD is a big savings and sometime not so much. In this case there is still a savings but maybe not as much as you'd like. Good luck finding one cheaper, if you do I highly recommend grabbing one and just enjoy it and quit bitching about the price.
AstroBevGood luck for finding one with perfectly centered with clean washers, oh you can take a look at that case and keep yourself satisfied with that promotion regardlessly.
By the way Seiko's or Citizens wasn't shipped with special case too..
If you gonna get any problems with that product like uneven edges or centering issues, i am pretty sure massdrop will be taking care of with you in a very fast way
Like knifeworks or bladehq...
txt979Pretty sure that since the PM2 isn't pinned together, you can adjust all the screws to get better centering if you're not happy with what it comes with (But I haven't personally tried it, just what I hear). Also you can take it apart to clean the washers if they're not to your liking from factory. If you do have issues Spyderco's have a pretty good warranty service from what I hear/ have personally experienced, so the fact that I can't send it back to MassDrop if it has an issue is nullified. Also all the Spyderco's I've gotten from MassDrop have been pretty spot on.
txt979The current deal for the satin blade versions is about 12 dollars off the prices you linked to counting s&h cost. I think it's close to the same for the black dlc finished versions, as those are more both here and there, but they are 10 dollars extra here and 12 more on BHQ. In any case, a 12 dollar discount from $125.97 isn't nothing. It's not huge, but 10 percent is still something.
AstroBevyeah, sure you can drill the blade's pin hole if its milled with wrong angle too.
most of the time, companies like this, buys little defected or older products for a much more cheaper than regular wholesale prices, than sell em under couple bucks lower than standart market price.
this is how marketing works. no one gives free-lunch unless there is something.
txt979There's a post about Massdrop receiving word from manufacturing of a new higher grind on the PM2 on here, which leads me to believe they're not getting old batches as that update came after they placed the order. Spyderco does sell defective knives, but they're 'factory seconds' and are marked so we would know if that's what was being sold as well. If you're insinuating that Spyderco knowingly sells good knives to one company and worse knives to another without disclosure, then perhaps you shouldn't support a company you think is so shady. If you think that Massdrop is a site where they knowingly buy and sell worse knives without disclosure, than perhaps you shouldn't be here. I think that neither of those scenarios is likely. "Companies like this" usually negotiate these prices by buying in bulk. If you think that a "couple bucks" isn't worth it then don't join, but 10% off isn't "total BS".
new_blade_fanyes when you get an italian or german brand knife from massdrop, you are not gonna find spare parts for that from youtube or massdrop unlike the bladehq or knifecenter.
did youtube teaches you that too?
txt979All the knives I've lost I've replaced through massdrop. Two delicas, one pm2 and two Kizers. Not a single issue.
Whatever though, do whatever you want.
soldierofchrist35It's the same cost at this point, 155.97, as the S&H is free both places as well. I clicked the Join Drop button to double-check. The shipping date on KnifeCenter says "Due late June", but no matter what you'd almost definitely get the one from KnifeCenter faster than here, unless KC runs out of them or something.
OmniseedI'm not really sure what it means. I went and found the comment again, and one before it referencing people inquiring about the grind, both by Jonas ( the guy in charge of bringing us these drops from what I can tell). Perhaps they're talking about changing how far up the edge comes? (As of today 06/14/2018 the comments are about 48 weeks back, just scroll back and do a 'Find in Page' for 'grind').
