JamesXYour blade looks pretty dirty and already a scratch on it for something that arrived that way.
I'm wondering if it's due to shipping and/or customs rather than massdrop, as that's something they can't control. I mean I've seen bad knives, but that looks straight up unbelievable in how damaged it looks.
Also, massdrop recycles their pages. Is that from the Sprint Run, or their normal Para Military 2 drop?

I've been seeing spyderco blades on massdrop for a while, all as seemingly high prices, what is it that sets these knives apart, is spyderco just a big name in the knife world, or do they make really good products?

OmniseedI'm not really sure what it means. I went and found the comment again, and one before it referencing people inquiring about the grind, both by Jonas ( the guy in charge of bringing us these drops from what I can tell). Perhaps they're talking about changing how far up the edge comes? (As of today 06/14/2018 the comments are about 48 weeks back, just scroll back and do a 'Find in Page' for 'grind').

You can just get the same knife for cheaper on Amazon and with two day shipping if you have Amazon Prime. I've honestly been kind of let down by the knife deals on this site lately.

Yeah...they're basically the honey badger of the online retail world. Hard to know if it's a human or algorithm pulling strings, but it's now quite common to see them lower prices in reaction to our drop launches. We take it as a compliment and sign of success - and if it results in members getting better prices, all the better.

You guys need to sort out this customs/ shipping issues pronto! Strictly speaking, it ain't good for business as speaks to your ability and consumer confidence as such. This is now the seventh drop I've not been able to take part in due to such foolish restrictions. Get some legal advice on the matter and find better shipping agent whose able to get around such pesky issues.

Here are couple examples of fakes being sold on eBay - just search for these item numbers: 181681432672 and 231544765165.
You can see that the current fakes from China are a bit off when it comes to the camo color, likely because they're using cheaper quality G-10. There are also some small noticeable differences with the laser engravings on the blade, the size of the torx used for the pivot screw, the shape of the cutout for the lockbar, etc.
There are plenty of authorized dealers selling genuine Spydercos on eBay as well, but one should always be aware of knives from China and/or new sellers without much feedback.
