Experience and mastery are traits that encompass the design of the Spyderco Sage. Through extensive trial and development, Spyderco’s design has developed into a commendable knife featuring Michael Walker’s design for the LinerLock and ball bearing detent method of locking open a folding knife Read More
I received mine yesterday... The action is super stiff, to the point that a very spirited deployment attempt will fail. I own more spyderco knives than I should admit and have never been disappointed until now. Adjusting the pivot bolt proved that the blade will become too loose before relieving the stiff action. What should I do?

For anyone on the fence, I probably own 20 spyderco knives, and this particular one would be my first or second go to EDC. Absolutely love it. I much prefer it over the titanium version.
Finally buying a Spyderco for the sole reason of finding out why they get dropped more than any other manufacturer. Still curious why they're so popular when other companies make knives from similar or equal material for way less. Any reasons???
If you ever get your hands on a Spyderco Delica which is a mid-range Spydie, you will know what Spyderco is all about. I have a Delica with the Emerson Wave feature, and several other Spydercos, and the Delica is the most comfortable by far. Just melts into your hand. The Sage series is a fantastic intro for you. I have the Sage 4, and it is the most overlooked version of the lot. It's a beautiful knife! Each one in the Series has a different locking mechanism, it's a tribute to the different designers.
I have a bunch of Kershaws and they make a really good product. But Spydercos ooze quality. There is not one of my Kershaws that compares to my shittiest Spyderco. Not in action, not in strenght, not in comfort. That being said the massdrop blur is also one of my fav EDCs, but I can't in good conscience say its better than Spydercos.
finally the knife I have been waiting for since I joined MD, but alas it was not to be: "Due to additional scrutiny and increased seizures at Customs this drop will be limited to members within the US." Frustrating because this knife is legal in Canada, and since it isn't spring assisted or anything fancy I doubt any customs agent would get ornery about it. Oh well, can anyone point me to a good Canadian online knife retailer?
