Not much of a massdrop. What's the (drop) point?

PNWNativeStill doesn't explain the massdrop part. What's their raison d'etre now? Retail?

jacal01Do you actually even know what the MAP policy is? https://www.spyderco.com/forumII/viewtopic.php?t=69166
Per the above link: Spyderco will be implementing a Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) Policy with our retailers that will go into effect January 1, 2016. This means that there can be no advertisements on-line or in print at a price lower than 40% off of MSRP.

PNWNativeMore like "Do we care? Are we caring about that?" ;) I think there's multiple points being missed around here...

jacal01Seems like the definition of "massdrop" means 'mass quantities purchased = drop in price'. I know I wouldn't shop here for some comparable retail price, with the wait times involved. Hence 'raison d'etre'. Volume of sales = more profit, regardless of customer savings?
