Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. Aside from that - wow, first song in and they sound eerily similar to the open back Fidelio X2s which used to be $300. I don't think I'd notice the grain in the highs if I wasn't looking for it thanks to reviews at Head-Fi and other places.
EDIT: Ok, two songs in and the bass extension really comes through. Great alternative to mid-fi open cans.
EDITEDIT: Two days in and I think I could probably sell my Senn HD598s, and give away my Philips SHP9500s, and be happy with the Fidelio X2s for my open backs and these CB-1s for my closed back pair. They sound that good. I'd love a $100-150 version of this with better build materials, though!
