What's the price? theyre $60 on Amazon right now. should i get them from there?
is the bass good in this headphones? (for gaming) 🤷‍♂️
Manu29
The bass is tight and not overpowering. Its definitely lacking if you like to listen to EDM or Rap music but is perfect for gaming. I bought a vmoda boom mic for them and have been using them as a replacement for my steel series sibera headphones that broke a few months ago.
I saw someone posted Z review. Before you make a decision just watch it. I own one and they exactly what he says they are...
why no asia shipping especially my country indonesia :(
It's too bad they sound good because they're too small for my head and consequently are extremely uncomfortable to wear for more than 5 minutes..
Reactant
Have you tried other headphones? These were one of the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn (maybe not as much as MA900 but close)

The SHP9500s and PC37Xs feel great on my head and both still have ample adjustment room.

These are FOR SURE WORTH the Price.
Just FYI, these are on sale for 55 bucks on Amazon
I just got mine in today! Wow these are excellent headphones for the price! Very pleased! Thanks Massdrop!
Does anyone know when the drop will ship?
Robbiec67
I guess, I'm not patient. Hope they ship before 11/2917
I know this is a very basic question but I couldn't find an answer to it- is there some form of volume control in line or on the headphones?
MSolleID
No. Would be nice for portability. From what I've read, these aren't the sturdiest . So probably not good for portability anyways. Too bad, since the reviews for sound are very good.
Price aside, How does these compare to the M40x in term of Sound?

Yeah, Everyone that I've spoke to pretty much says Pad change is a MUST!
MidnighTempest
CB-1 was much more comfortable even with the pad change Clamping for is just too much on M40X
Sound quality to build quality is the trade off at this price range. They feel pretty cheap but they are extremely comfortable. The pads fit completely over my ears but were stiff when I first purchased them, however they've softened up considerably. Would recommend these as an entry level pair. If you're used to $200+ headphones these wont seem like much to you, but they are killer for the price.
I am currently living in Singapore .And just checking will shipping to my country. If not then how get ship to me. Thank help need. Very much support of Massdrop.
I bought them at the two drops. Awesome headphones.
I'm a fan. Love my CB-1's.
These cans actually sound pretty decent. However, they are not true "over ears" like my Sennheisers. These feel more like oversized on-ears. If you have small ears you should be ok but so far, I haven't found a headphone that feels as comfy as my Senn 579s. Also, these things have a weird spring action when turning the cup so they can never lay flat which is a bit annoying. They do fold, however.
These are worth it for the price. Good sound quality for the low low price you pay. Don't expect the build quality to blow you away though. They are 80 dollars by the way. It's kind of like a shp9500 situation where they sound good and they are comfortable but they have a low cost for a reason.

SHP9500s have a phenomenal build quality showcasing Philips' attention to detail. They sound insanely good for the price (at par with many ~$100-$200 headphones) and are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn (and I've tried on quite a few headphones). Some people have a problem with the lack of a clamping force, but not me. Sometimes, I forget that they're even on my head. 2 reasons for that- the comfort and the wide soundstage that makes me feel like I'm listening through speakers and not headphones. The wire provided is thick and tangle-free, even though mine started to lose sound after 6 months. So perhaps a better wire and you're golden.
Ordered these on amazon before it dropped 2 days later ;(. Great pair of cans for the right price. I pair it with my FiiO E10k
Got these in the last drop and have been loving them. Though tonight I had them hooked up to my Topping NX1s and the right side suddenly went MUCH quieter after an hour or so of listening to music. I've tried plugging them in without the amp and on separate devices and the problem persists. What's going on here? Bad wiring? Bad speaker? Any idea how to fix this?

ME TOO!!!
I recently purchased a pair of these after I borrowed some from a co-worker. They do have a break-in period, where they start sounding better after about 25 hours and improve a tad at 50 hours. The mids open up and the highs get smoother. Bass was good to begin with and I didn't notice much of a change in quantity after break in. I almost purchased a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50x this past weekend, but after listening to them in-store I still think the Status Audio CB-1 is a more enjoyable headphone. I just think the M50x, while better than my old M50 (non-X) just sounds dry on the upper frequencies. The lows and mids on the M50 are decent and probably flatter, the CB-1 beats it with a considerably wider soundstage. The CB-1 also sound pretty good and even at lower volumes. I feel that the M50x needs to be played bit more volume to get things sounding even (where the bass or treble might be overpowering the other at lower levels). I basically use the CB-1 as my go to closed headphone when sound isolation is needed. Keep in mind the price / performance of these. I basically purchased them since they perform well for the money and I wanted to see what a sub $100 headphone could do. Needless to say I'm quite happy with these and I would purchase again. They sound ok/decent at first but noticeably better after break-in. Hope this info helps. By the way I just did the ZMF Ori pads (massdrop purchase) for $50 that will go on my Hifiman HE-400i, so for a little more than a pair of nice pads, you get a complete set of headphones.
Why such expensive shipping to Europe? 33 USD is a little bit much, bringing the price from 60 bucks to 90....
Umm I just received a pair of the CB-1s in an amazon box today but this is the only place I ordered it from...has anyone else already received their order?

Yeah I got mine like that too didn't think much of it
Tall_Midget
Soon after posting this I got a shipping notification for the package that was already delivered lol
Just a heads up - both the included cables are really long so I ended up buying another shorter one.
Zetre
There is a proprietary cable but most cables with a small-ish connector will fit into the hole. And the cables themselves are good quality but basically the same as one is just the coiled version of the straight 3m one.
Here's my two cents:
As an owner of these, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. They're pretty transparent and detailed, but they sound so fake and artificial compared to the K182s and (what I remember of) the M40Xs.
Plus I dropped them only a few times (a 2ft drop off my couch mind you) and they cracked. IMO not even good enough build quality for day to day use, unless you're super careful and will never drop them once. I completely disagree with statements like "build quality isn't the best, but it's good enough". Beats have better build, if that gives you an impression of how bad these are built.
The top comment (for me rn) says that they'd be $90 after shipping anyways, so I say either go Porta Pro X or budget IEM for mobile use, or something like HD558/M40X for at home use.
Of course you can do whatever you want, and if you want to ignore my experience go right ahead, but I though I'd give my two cents to whoever wants to listen.

A good review and I somewhat agree. These shouldn't be your only cans. Pair these with the philips 9500 (more neutral and open) and you have a collection worth 10x as much.
IMO the quality is acceptable for a sub $100 pair.
EnsisTheSlayer
I have to heartily disagree with your review (other than the comments about build quality, but that should be well apparent by now). The sound on these is really killer for the $60 price tag. MUCH better than M40x, or any other budget open-back can under $100.
Your subjective "fake and artificial" comments make no sense. These cans sound crisp, detailed, and have a similar frequency response as the Fidelio X2's, without all the "grain" of the X2. They are slightly V-shaped, but they are accurate, and have very decent soundstage and imaging, on par with much more expensive cans.
These flog the M40x all day. They're great headphones, as long as you are prepared to baby them as desk cans.
$87.99 $33.00 shipping ships from 15 sept not worth it
They are a great deal at $79, so at the discounted price it's a steal. I have listened to them (borrowed from a co-worker that purchased these after he borrowed my Grado 325e and Philips Fidelio X2 for the day). Sure the build quality is not as good as the ATH-m50x or 40, but it sounds way better. They sound even better than my gaming Philips Fidelio X2, which are $299. The Philips has a "V" shaped frequency curve (bass is boosted, mids a bit receded, slight bump on the highs). The CB-1 has much better mids than both the Audio Technica ATH-50 / 40 and Philips Fidelio X2 and is more pleasant to listen to.
How is the isolation on these? Is it sufficient for a flight or a train?
Emanvr
The noise isolation is pretty poor. I get annoyed on a bus hearing the engine pretty clearly through them. Maybe it has something to do with wearing glasses or the shape of my head/ears though...
Nice review & bit of a comparison with the ath-m50x. Apparently the Status Aduio CB-1 sound better than the m50x. [https://www.theverge.com/2016/11/16/13641996/best-headphones-under-100-status-cb1-review]
