I have the 6Gv2, for the most part this is one of the best cheapest mechanical keyboards (AUS), however the unusual enter & shift key ruins it for me. The cherry MX black keys are stiff and make long sessions hard on the hands, consider this purchase carefully. This keyboard is built like a tank

This is my first mechanical keyboard purchase and the one that I am still using to this day 3 years later. A few quirks that I would change but all in all a fine piece.

I own six mechanical keyboards: a SteelSeries 6gv2, Ducky 9008g2, Razer BlackWidow 2011, Azio Levetron Clicker, Keycool 87, and a Noppoo Choc Mini.
Despite its layout, the 6gv2 is still a pretty good keyboard, IMO. Obviously the layout is a drawback, but I still replaced most of the keys with a set of doubleshot ABS (minus the right shift, enter, and backslash keys). At $70+$10 S/H I would say it's an O.K. deal for a full size keyboard because the build quality is excellent.

I have the old 7G connected to my home server. It's still a good keyboard, but a word of warning.
Beware the big-ass enter key if you like to customize.

Very well made board, but the non-standard layout is completely unnecessary. An ISO layout would at least be manageable...

I have three of these at home on my LAN. Out of my six gaming stations, three are steelseries 6gv2 + sensei raw + QCK Heavy+ Siberia V2.
These are no-nonsense keyboards. There is not a more solidly built keyboard on the market, you could bludgeon a rotweiller to death this with thing and it would still work after.
That said this is a gaming keyboard designed by the Danish. So the layout reflects this, this is an issue for some, not for others. It also doesn't ship with any moronic gimmicks like LED back lighting, USB hub, audio pass through, dedicated macro keys, or any of that nonsense.
If you want a mechanical keyboard to use, not look at, don't mind the Danish layout, and need to break chunks of concrete in your spare time this is your keyboard.

Great keyboard, doesn't take long to adjust to the small changes in the layout. Best keyboard I ever owned. Would get on board if I didn't already own it.
