Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Setup is a breeze, however I too had the speaker humming. I tried to pinpoint exactly what was causing it and noticed that every time I touched or moved the 3.5mm-RCA cable, it would cause the humming to reappear. Fortunately I had a spare cable left over from a previous setup and when I tried that cable I no longer got the humming. Time will only tell if this is a permanent solution to the issue, but at present it seems to have stopped. I'll put a link down below to the cable I got.
I no longer require the lasik eye surgery to correct my myopia thanks to the really bright blue LED power light. I will look into trying to dim it, but for now I can see perfectly without the need of contacts/glasses for the first time since the third grade. Thanks HiVi for returning my eyesight! :-p
I haven't had time to route the cables properly but here's a picture of how they look on my desk:
