From the Swiss Diamond website
" Our Diamond coated products including: Swiss Diamond Classic, Induction, HD Pro, and Swiss Titan are made in Sierre, Switzerland. Swiss Diamond Premium Steel, Prestige Knives, Kitchen Tools, and Electrics are designed in Switzerland and manufactured according to our own rigorous standards in P.R.C. "
Given the modest price, I'm pretty sure their cast iron is coming from China. That doesn't bother me at all if it is well made. Does anyone have experience of how robust the enamel coating is? For about quarter of the price of well-known French brands, I don't know how much I can expect.
MelliferaSeems P.R.C. is likely. I am forever baffled at Massdrop's reluctance to explicitly state in every offering; the country of origin, it matters to many, including myself. In this case I'm out for two reasons, where its made and Massdrop's deceiving writeup.
RayFWow RayF Chill!!! I don't even know what a MAGA hat is. Further I do own made in China products but attempt to avoid when able. Hope that's OK with you??
JOYCEfromNSI am the very picture of chill, I assure you. On the other hand, when someone makes a comment such as yours, I simply couldn't resist challenging it. If the NS stands for Nova Scotia, you're forgiven for not understanding the MAGA reference. Still ever so curious what your issue with China is?
RayFJust playing MY perceived balance of probabilities - in my experience I have been more disappointed by oriental products than others. So I'm willing to seek out and pay more for the products of the country of mfg; Europe, North American etc. If that's nut-job - well so be it. Country of Mfg is important to me but doesn't seem important to MassDrop despite the many similar voices echoing similar experiences. In this case of Cast Iron - give me France, Swiss, Denmark etc. Don't try and trick me with Oriental. Nothing political I assure you - 100% selfishness on my part.
JOYCEfromNS"Oriental" is a pretty broad term--can you be more specific? China makes great electronics, Korea makes great appliances, Japan makes great cars, and North Korea makes great nuclear missiles (or so I'm told). So what's the issue?
RayF We have Choices - you buy what you want, I will do the same. I just prefer a world where I'm not subjected to trickery by falsely implying the country of mfg is somewhere other than it is,. I can't totally avoid it but will attempt. And as far as the name calling I suppose you feel that's OK too.
