I joined the drop in the first week and unfortunately was affected by the stock out. No communication from anyone until September 22nd. I reply with my replacement fabric choice (polyester?) more than 24 hours before the deadline. Instead of the confirmation I was expecting, I receive an email the next day saying I didn't reply in time and my order is now cancelled, and I get another email 5 minutes later asking my opinion of Massdrop's customer service (??!!) My reply is being posted here because I wanted a more public forum to point out that even the customers that 1) understand vendor supply issues and have no problem waiting patiently for remedy and 2) can tolerate less than stellar communication from MD regarding order status when things don't go as planned, can till get screwed because some MD staffer forgot to check their email. Out of all the things that can go wrong organizing these drops, a communication mistake like this is unacceptable. I'm about to join all the folks that are giving up - MD is a great idea but their staff just doesn't seem to able to deal with the challenges of pulling it off.
