Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. - Not sure about the durability & QC claims as mine have been rock solid. In fact, they still look like they've just been taken out of the box.
- My pair needed 200 hours of burn-in before I began to feel that they "matured" . Right now, the bass is quick & extended but it's not the strongest. The treble has developed some air & is very good without being sibilant. The midrange, which was always the strong suite, remains so & the small issue I had with the upper midrange has dissipated. They are a very neutral iem. Because of their comfort, fit & ability to isolate, I'd call these my main everyday travel iem's. I have many others that I also use so no, it's not a matter of me getting used to their sound. They really have improved over time & to be honest, I'm not sure that they've finished improving.
- Dynamics are not the best & they don't like to be pushed to hard. Keep them within their comfort zone & they can be very good.
To summarize:
