I managed to snag this pair on aliexpress for about $51 with a special discount and coupon last month. They should be here later this week. The price on massdrop for these seems like a pretty reasonable discount as they are around $80 on aliexpress without a discount.

AkumaKuronoKeep in mind, the model being sold on MD is with the new/upgraded cable. I'm fairly certain that discounted price went up $10 on AE after the new cable was released.

The one I purchased has the silver plated copper wire. Where on MD does it say it's the upgraded cable?

ElectronicVices"dual-chamber dynamic driver design as their predecessors" I believe they are referring to their previous TFZ Series 1 and 3. The 5 is clearly an upgrade to towards the other 2.
I will be getting the ones I bought off Aliexpress and compare it to this one. From what I'm seeing it's practically the same as the pictures from where I bought it from.
