Anyone know how this compares to a Chrome bag? I have this one: http://www.chromeindustries.com/us/en/bags/messenger-bags/citizen-messenger-bag
and am not sure whether its worth getting this one just for the laptop pocket.

LunaRoseChrome's construction is higher by a pretty substantial margin. Timbuk2 has started outsourcing their labor to Asia and they've also been reducing the quality of components slowly over the last few years - all of the parts that look metal are just plastic with metallic paint. The laptop pocket really doesn't add much, just keeps it upright.

LunaRoseI have the chrome citizen night, they are different bags in a few regards. The timbuk2 is a general style messenger - lots of pockets, sits sideways on your back, padded laptop pocket, a great general use bag. I use the timbuk2 as a general work bag/travel bag.
The chrome is a simpler bag in most regards. Less internal pockets, sits at an angle on your back, has a sternum strap so it won't slide around as you ride, constructed more durably, no internal padding or laptop pocket. I use the chrome when ride my motorcycle.
*the cross body strap on the timbuk2 is ok... but never feels as stable or movement-free as the Chrome.
