Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Sculpted-profile The majority of custom keycap sets are sculpted-profile (Cherry, SA, MT3, KAT, etc. - more on profiles generally here) so let’s start there. Because each row has a unique keycap shape, alt layouts require a unique keycap for each legend that moves off its QWERTY row. Don't believe the morons wanting MassDrop to get Realforce keyboards off Brian, then to sell them here, it's far cheaper to buy them direct off his website.
Amazing where all these people come from, a small town in Stupidville ; )
Again MassDrop is for us "Foreigners" who have no access to these type of keyboards plus the shipping price is amazing low compared to any other shop online.
I'm only in for the 55g Keyboard that MD supplies.
have you gotten that FC660C yet? If so, i would love to hear your impression about that board and the Topre experience. You're one of the few who seems to have any Topreboard that seems to exist :)
Have a nice day!
BTW; i live in EU and we have no good choices for Topre boards here.. it's like living in a third world country man !! Really really Suck so am i happy with MD providing us with the option to buy great keyboards ?? Heck yes !! and a bit of a no !! a sad little no .. As i wished they had a EU warehouse were they would ship from.. That would save me 31% every single time i buy from MD i get that ugly yellow sticker telling me to watch out .And next that next time if i pass the limit of $45 i would have to pay 31% ..So answering the question is MD for foreigners ??? As a foreigner that wishes he wasn't one..ahahha i believe yes would be the answer..But MD does a whole lot more than just provide us with Great keyboard opportunities like this one..But i really really like what they are doing with the guys from Input Club !! And the WhiteFox project..And cant't wait to see what they will be doing with the K-type keyboard.. The only reason why i did not get that awesome WhiteFox board was because of the 21% Vat And 10% DHL customs fee i had to pay ..Bringing that board to a whopping $300 + But i don't know if i can restrain my self with the K-type..Or this RealForce drop..
But it is a different story for people from abroad, because shipping from american stores is allmost every time twice as expensive and the product costs 5-10 percent more. Having in mind that we have to pay duties/tax for the complete price with shipping this sums up. That's what he meant, but he didn't express it that precise this time, but on other times before.
Cheers
