The black switches are a lot darker IRL, if you're not a touch typist, I strongly suggest the white option. I guess, if you are not a good typist, you are probably not looking at 200$ boards. Having owned a white Japanese model prior to my current 55g 87U, I'd like to add that the white model looks a LOT better than the photos suggest. Actually, the photos don't really do the justice to either board, both buttons and case have a subtle texture that make them look very refined. Also, while you get more of that addictive Topre feeling and tactility with the 55g board; if you type a lot, the 45g is a lot easier on your fingers and wrists. In my experience with Topre boards, you have to add ~10g to get the comparable Cherry feel - although Topre is buttery smooth, compared to Cherries' sand in your todger feeling. {Just my 2c as owner of both boards. (Plus a variety of Alps and MX ones, it's a sickness - I know.)}
