Disappointed in the quality of these. Left earbud gave out after less than 2 years (purchased Dec 14, 2016) of moderate use. Probably didn't help that the flat rubbery cable that connects the earbuds is perfect for catching and dragging on the back of your neck - one earbud would consistently end up yanking the other earbud, especially while running.
Reading some other comments, looks like I'm not the only one who experienced the left ear going out. I took great care of these headphones, so I'm chalking this up to poor build quality.
This Bluetooth headset is average at best. The ear hooks are floppy and need to be a little bit more stiff
I feel like ive been scammed
I bought the xr100 a month ago and my left ear went out, and the following day my headphones just shut off, and wont turn back on. Ive tooken excellent care of this product and enjoyed these headphones but for them to be completely gone in a month is pretty crazy.
What about AXUM? finally, someone is making wireless headphones for RUNNERS!!!! and not just another gaming/Netflix earbuds... to be honest, I really doubt that there's a better pair of this completely wireless earbuds - can't wait to get mine https://goo.gl/VC1Rju
Well I have had these for roughly ten months now and they still work great, especially for the price. Just wanted to come back and say I've been quite pleased with them. The only real gripe I have with them is the ear loop doesn't do much for retention but I find that they are light enough that they stay in my ears anyway. The foam buds make a better seal than the rubberized ones, but also tend to get dirtier more easily and have cracked in a few places (not really a problem as it can't be felt).
They are used primarily for the gym and while mowing the lawn. During the latter activity I do find I need to have my phone in my right pocket to maintain a solid connection, but this seems to have more to do with the lawn mower as I have no issues in the gym even when I walk 20+ feet away from my phone.

Bought these (Treblab XR500) this February and now my left earbud is no longer working, before it stopped it started cutting off intermittently. Also when paired with an iPhone and it reached %30 percent battery life it would announce 5% percent battery life left and shutdown. I guess you get what you paid for which for me means skipping the next drop.

I already did and they are sending me a replacement pair, thanks!
Jaimen
I know this is 18 weeks old but the same exact thing just happened to my pair, the left earbud stopped working! I emailed customer support so i really hope they can help me out.
This company is pretty shady. The only reviews you can find are unknown bloggers who plug any free product they get and fail to disclose that they received something from the manufacturer. Fakespot says almost half of the reviews for Treblab products are fake:

gnarcia
Also many glowing reviews on here are from obvious sockpuppet accounts with no actual drop purchases and only comment is to praise treblab, e.g.: https://www.massdrop.com/profile/Dolly_Sha/comments https://www.massdrop.com/profile/Alexkwan03/comments
Bought these in a drop last year in October. They were terrible. The sound quality was the absolute worst sound quality I've ever had from a set of headphones/earbuds, Bluetooth or not. Wouldn't recommend these to anyone.
slugthug
We are sorry that sound quality of TREBLAB earphones didn't match your expectations.
All our customers agree that the sound of TREBLAB earphones is great and bassy and if you don't get such quality - probably something went wrong.
If the sound is somehow disappointing, please, in this case we kindly ask you to try checking the equalizer preset on your device. Also, please, mind the source - bitrates of the track could dramatically reduce the final sound quality.
If mentioned above didn't help, I will ask you to reset the earphones (in most cases this procedure resolves the sound issue) by performing the following steps:
1. Connect the earbuds to a power source. 2. While connected to a source power press and hold the power button for 7 seconds. 3. Try to connect again by following the steps for connecting.
Please don’t hesitate to contact our support if nothing mentioned above helps.
Bought my pair on Amazon before. Customer care is great. However if you are looking for sound quality, just imagine a pair of Beats headphone in your ears with even MORE BASSSSSSS.
hthjthtrh
We are sorry to know that you didn't like much the sound quality of TREBLAB XR500. Kindly try adjusting the equaliser on your device and please double-check upon additional apps installed for managing the sound (they can give the difference in the final sound quality). Please contact our support if you are still unhappy with it.
Here i am buying my 4th pair. No nothing wrong. Just the opposite. My wife took one pair. Now my MIL. Grrr
Another round of this crap... still advertising as "noise cancelling"...
As with all Treblab products, do your due diligence. They repeatedly and wilfully mislead over 'noise cancelling' so I have no reason to expect any integrity from them in other areas. Check Amazon etc reviews, see what others say about how disappointing they are, and buyer beware.

I do believe that the owner of Treblab is a pretty active participant in this drop discussion.
You're the perfect example of how deceptive and poor these practices are. 1) the industry standard for what you describe is noise isolation, not cancellation 2) they DO have an electronic noise cancellation, but it's on the microphone. Like (nearly) every other headset... It's so wind noise doesn't make you sound like a garbled mess 3) the description IS deceptive when they include phrases like "[...] nine hours of noise-cancelling play time" If Treblab is here in this drop discussion, maybe they want to spin a story on how making that statement is a fair, non-deceptive practice?
They have great customer service. Xr500 is actually better than their new rf100 for me. These are very similiar to powerbeats. So worth it if u want a cheaper option

Nice try sockpuppet
Hmmm. Got my girlfriend the waterproof version of these and they seem to have crapped out. Looking to get in touch with TREBLAB about the provided 1-year warranty but cannot figure out how.

Thanks for update! A simple glitch might happen with any microelectronic device. Glad that it's solved. And if not, you dont have to worry, all our products covered by warranty.
TREBLAB
Sounds good! Wanted to update here and give credit where credit is due. :)
Wow. For it's price these Wireless Earbuds hold up. I was surprised at how well the noise cancelling was. I find that these are best used with the memory foam ear tips, which are included with many different sizes along with its own case. The value is great! Sound Quality is a little above Apple ear pods. Only complaint is that it doesn't handle bass very well. 8/10.

I Find these headphones to be bassy on their own. I turn down the bass when i listen to EDM. If you aren't getting enough bass i would suggest trying all the earpieces including the foam.
massuhhtuhh
such authentic so sockpuppet wow
These look eerily similar to these, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G8JO5F2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I assume the same product with another label, good product!

This wasn't meant to be anything negative or accusatory. It's not uncommon to my knowledge for manufacturers to build the same or similar parts for multiple companies, all of which will have different warranty and after-sale service. I just mentioned a similarity and the fact that I had good experience with a very similar product.
Nik707
I've never taken it in a negative way, no worries :) Just added a comment from another angle of this point, for enriching our discussion and providing additional information.
So it says they are "Noise-Cancelling" How's that work, is it active with a mic or passive?
Esclah
TREBLAB XR500 earbuds passively cancel the din of the outside world. It's also known as noise isolation and it works by blocking some background noise by the shape of the earbuds forming a good seal inside your ears to prevent the noise getting in. And, additionally, this headset has СVС 6.0 noise-cancellation technology in the built-in Mic (for clearer phone conversations).
It says that these are Bluetooth 4.1 CSR. Does that mean that these support APTX since CSR created created the standard? Or is this something new with Bluetooth 4.1?
GrogD
TREBLAB XR500 earbuds are featured with Bluetooth 4.1 CSR but, please note, they don't support APTX. CSR did create a lot of good things, however, products might have different specs. It's all about a design of a particular model, an initial plan how the device should be created. If you are interested in APTX, please take a look at TREBLAB RF100 and J1.
Am I missing something?? Amazon Prime is selling the TREBLAB XR100 for $19.97
Load 3 more comments
Perhaps $19.97 was a "lightning deal", but it's now showing as $23.99, and with Amazon Prime 1-day shipping. I think I'll just pick it up there. Grats on the massdrop post though. I wouldn't have ever known these existed otherwise.
Drexl
I agree, Massdrop has a lot of interesting and useful information.
Too sad that it does not ship to Taiwan.

This question can be solved :)

I bought XR500 months ago and they are still awesome. I wear them every day in the shower, on the way to work, and then sometimes 1/2 my workday varying on how much coding I have to do and they never fail me. I have them paired with my both my iPad and iPhone and they connect to both and whichever I play music on they switch to. I have had to do a full factory reset and repair twice because they stopped connecting but that is like 1 minute time and every pair of BT headphones I have had does this from time to time.
I just bought the XR500 a few months ago. Worked decent, but now they will not turn on. They have charged on original cable, light is blue, but nothing happens. Tried to get ahold of someone, but no avail.

Hi Vanessa,
We apologise for the trouble that happened with your pair. We are helping you. Kindly check your email, our customer care manager Mary is working on it. Please don't worry, our support won't close this case until the issue with your headset is solved!
Left ear bud has no sound after first recharge.
Lounstx
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the headset.
Please contact our support with the order number of your purchase at support@treblab.com for further assistance.
Thank you for your patience.
Have a some collection of headphones (Bose over-the-ear, Treblab, Apple, JBL earbuds). I love all of them. During my travels by plane or when my bf is watching football, I try to use Bose, they actively cancel noise but I can’t say that it’s blocked completely, still I hear some sound from the plain or TV(( and they are wired. I believe that every headset for different occasion. Wearing Treblab 500 when going to gym or doing chores at home: they are small, wireless and I’m not afraid to break them (not $320 like my Bose).
Dolly_Sha
Nice try sockpuppet.
I work in a factory that custom build a product out of aluminum. The fabrication is extremely loud. Welders run all day. I can only assume you are using these while tuning a jet engine. I have two pair and am getting two more. The battery is great. Sound as well. Thank you treblab. I use them 8hrs a day.
1. @massdrop @TREBLAB : Noise-cancellation: СМС 6.0 I'm pretty sure you mean cVc not CMC. Can @TREBLAB confirm?
2. If it is cVc then the "noise canceling" part of the earphones is for the MICROPHONE, NOT for ambient noise cancelation during listening.
@ferretallica
Edit. This is the page about cVc technology. Note that the CSR website lists the version as 5.0 not 6.0. http://www.csr.com/products/22/cvc-5.0
Edit 2. If it is not cVc then TREBLAB can you please explain what CMC 6.0 means?
payodpanda
That's right, thank you for your sharp eye! The noise cancellation for the built-in Mic is CVC 6.0. There's a typo in the product description; we are correcting it.
The passive noise cancellation of the headset is all about the shape of the earbuds and using the right size of the expandable ear tips - to block the environmental noise.
These are not bad and I would hardly call them "junk". They are probably best for the gym or a run. I wouldn't use these at home but I was never disappointed by these for working out. They will always have a home in in my gym bag.
As for the noise cancelling - yes they passively cancel noise. I am happy not to hear the junk that is playing over the gym audio system.
Update: Battery life is terrific. Use it daily (min 45 minutes) without charging and lasts for over a week. Was using a pair of AirPods today and it was cutting off too, even though my iPhone was in my pocket.
Glad I checked the discussion first, I almost bought these based on being noise CANCELLING. By their definition, having a paper bag over your head counts as 'noise cancelling'. Very disappointed with Massdrop for lacking the integrity to filter out willfully deceptive products like this.

All you are doing is proving not only are you willingly deceptive, but also completely shameless when caught out. This is how to ensure people actively hate your brand.
ferretallica
It's very sad to know that there's a hate. We wish happiness, bright and beautiful moments to everyone in the world :)
Every our single product is secured by return policy and 1-Year Warranty.
Happy listening to everyone who's having TREBLAB earbuds.
There seems to be a large amount of deceptive advertising around this product. I was interested at first glance, but now... nope. Stop using fake phrases and false advertising around "noise-cancelling". Ultimately, the actual product specs are unclear. There are other products with clearer, more honest specs at the same price point.
Nice try.
Not buying it.
jw2massdrop
We are sorry to know that you are disappointed with our product. Please note we don't want to mislead our dear customers by a false advertisement, TREBLAB XR500 do have PASSIVE Noise Cancellation (not ACTIVE). And the expandable foam ear-tips give an additional blocking from the environment noise.
Sincerely, TREBLAB

There are a lot of negative reviews here, but I'm not sure what they were expecting. I love mine. I just wanted a pair of headphones to wear at the gym and doing other physical activities. They are comfortable, I've never had a single random disconnect from my moto g 4th gen, but apparently other users do have that issue. I've dumped sweat all over these things by now and they still work perfectly. The charge lasts for a few gym sessions, but I've never stress-tested the battery life.
If you are looking for audiophile bluetooth headphones at this price, you are looking in the wrong place. That said, they sound comparable if not better than other BT headphones I've owned that cost twice the amount. I'm completely satisfied with the audio quality, price point, and comfort balance. I'd buy them again.
I bought 2 XR500s the last drop. These are okay for a throwaway pair of headphones, but don't expect too much. They frequently disconnect and have trouble re-pairing. You'll find yourself turning these off and on frequently to reset the connection. It's a shame that people are being misled with "noise cancelling" when they are instead "noise isolating".

Thank you for letting us know about the issues with your earbuds. We are sorry to know that you are having some connection problems with them.
Would you mind to troubleshoot your earphones to set up the connection between them and your device?
1. Reset the earphones to factory settings (while plugged in press/hold the power button for 7 seconds). 2. Go to your device's Bluetooth menu and delete all saved devices from the list by clicking “forget this device.” 3. Turn your device's Bluetooth off then turn back on. Treblab earbuds will be deleted. 4. Power off the device then turn back on. 5. Unplug Treblab from charging cable then power on. 6. Enter the earbuds into the pairing mode and follow instructions below for connecting.
I. Set the buds to discovery mode, by pressing and holding the home button until you see blue and red led’s flashing. II. Find “treblab” in your Bluetooth menu on your device and click “treblab.”
This should solve the connection and range problems.
Please note: For the Bluetooth earbuds to work properly the signal has to have a straight path from the device to the earbuds. If the path has any sort of blocks, or the distance between the devices is over 35 feet, the signal might break. This is a normal occurrence for all Bluetooth headphones. So we advise keeping that in mind when using the product.
Also, kindly note that XR500 earbuds have PASSIVE Noise Cancellation (not ACTIVE). And the expandable foam ear-tips give an additional blocking from the environment noise.
Please contact our support directly if the problem with Bluetooth remains even after reset. We will not close the case until you are completely satisfied with your purchase.

Kind regards, TREBLAB
