Glad I checked the discussion first, I almost bought these based on being noise CANCELLING. By their definition, having a paper bag over your head counts as 'noise cancelling'. Very disappointed with Massdrop for lacking the integrity to filter out willfully deceptive products like this.

amalamudNo. That is noise ISOLATING. Not cancelling. You can read all about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noise-cancelling_headphones Opening paragraph says it all:
" Noise-cancelling headphones are headphones that reduce unwanted ambient sounds using active noise control. This is distinct from passive headphones which, if they reduce ambient sounds at all, use techniques such as soundproofing."
