the oem for this PSU is "channel well". They make decent PSU, but definitelly not on the high end spectrum.
anything above $50 for PSU, i only trust seasonic (any of them are fine), evga supernova (only the ones made by super flower).
all my seasonic units never failed me once. i have a 750w gold in one of my systems running for 7 years.
my main comp and back up comp currently use evga supernova g3 and p2.
i really think the PSU is one of the most underrated parts in a PC build, don't go cheap or flashy (like this thermaltake, overpriced to hell even though is manufactured by a so-so oem).
just my 02 cents.

NYalexCorsair make lots of good PSUs in the high-end with the RMx series being the best price:performance. Antec and Rosewill make some good high-end PSUs as well, but you have to be more careful with the model selection. No reason to limit yourself to only those two companies.

Awakeningthe problem with corsair is that they have way too many models. you gotta navigate very carefully.
for instance RM series are from channel well, same as this thermaltake. decent, but nothing to write home about. but their AX series is by seasnonic.
but how is the average consumer supposed to know this?

NYalexYou could argue the same thing for EVGA and practically every other PSU manufacturer. They all have lots of models to choose from.
You list the RM series by Corsair and I agree with you about it being medicore, but you could say the same thing for EVGA's B, NEX, and generally all of their non-modular PSUs. Seasonic is the only PSU manufacturer I know of that hasn't made a bad PSU, at least recently.
These (http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Avvakening/favorites/#dg_power-supply) are what I'll usually recommend to people.
You should find this (http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page447.htm) link extremely helpful in determining if a PSU is good quality or not by checking what professional PSU reviewers have rated it or if any professional reviewers have taken a look at it at all. Click on the PSU brand (EVGA, etc) and then CTRL+F the model. There's also useful information in there like the actual manufacturer of the PSU which gives insight to whether or not a lineup has different manufacturers and therefore likely different quality. The EVGA BQ series is a good example with the 650W+ models being made by HEC and reviewed fairly well, but the <650W models being made by Andyson and not having any professional reviews yet. Even though they're the same BQ series, the lower wattage models will be a bit different internally.
PSUs are a tricky topic and unless you really know what you're talking about then professional PSU reviewers like JonnyGuru are your best bet to figuring out if a PSU is good or not.

NYalexCWT usually is usually mid to high end PSU's. I can't think of a single CWT PSU that isn't decent and I've been pretty deep in PSU's for years.
As for this, this isn't a deal. VS the rest of the market you can do better for $130.
