Like the knife, but not very good at using it
I learned real quick to always check the product description with this one. I am used to a double bevel design but do like how unique this is an addition to the kitchen cutlery. I have gotten better at using it over time. The Damascus looks okay to me and I'm not an expert when it comes to that steel type (i was never expecting a damastell level of detail). It does seem to hold an edge like VG-10 I am used to and I sharpen it using one rod on my sharp maker (which seems to work). I would recommend it to someone else looking for their first single bevel type japanese kitchen knife. But I would have preferred it to be double bevel.
Recommends this product? Yes

is it what was promised? I guess so... Vg10? yes, Demarcus? yup (on one side), sharp? Sort of... (expected sharper), Cheep knife? Yes sir! Could you buy a similar knife for less? Probably (if you know where to look-definitely/yes) this is about a 300RMB knife in China 40-50usd, but I can usually talk the sellers down to 140-200RMB effectively 20-30usd. Would I buy it again? Nope... would I recommend it? Depends... will I use it? Yes, it will work as a great knife to use on fish when I don’t want to use my Shun Fuji knives. To all those looking to buy this knife, there are better knives for $80 and for $100 you can get a 5-10x better knife!!! Look for knives not made in China... (japan is good)

Well I like it. It is thick, which is normal for a Sashimi knife. I cut my thumb first time out, been using dull knives for too long. Hardness is good, flexibility is good, and it looks beautiful. For what it cost, this might be the best knife I have right now.
