Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I was secretly concerned given all the snafus, silence, and shifted timelines that fit and finish would suffer as UE tried to catch up, and I would suffer through the refit process, which is the worst. I had to do re-fit years ago with my JH5's.
Pleasantly surprised. These things fit perfectly. I didn't realize how poorly my JH5 sealed until I put these on. The sound is of course unreal. I don't really want to take these out of my head.
For me, the end product more than compensates for the delays involved, especially for the price paid. I understand this may not be the case for some.
It was very irritating that we were in the dark frequently for long stretches. I would have appreciated hearing something, anything, even if it was "nothing is happening, sorry". But I still feel like I got a great deal.
I honestly think way more people than anticipated joined this drop, and originally reasonable timeline expectations became crushingly impossible. On a drop like this, linear increase in participants yields exponential increase in logistic pain.
Hopefully MD and UE can learn from this and better manage everyone's expectations in similar future ventures. The UERM are completely worth it, and I would hate to see MD or UE say "never again."
Hassan did a pretty superhuman job taking over while I was out, and we've learned a lot from this experience. I definitely wouldn't rule out another cool drop with UE, and if/when it happens we'll make sure to keep participants updated as much as possible.
Additionally, I hope you folks at massdrop don't take all the negativity personally. As @NicholasDaniel said, the vast majority of people are keeping updated and going about their lives. It seems a few people are totally fixated which turned into a vocal minority.
Lastly, when I contacted massdrop, I found you to be responsive and very helpful. It seems communications only simmered when your personal circumstances got involved. I had actually started to get a little worried since you had been so responsive and suddenly dropped off radar. The audio community is more close knit than it might initially appear. I was deeply saddened to read your email update. It's nice to see you posting again and seriously wish you the best in recovering. See you on the high seas, you ABS. Arrrrrr
Anyways, mine are waiting at work for me to pick up tonight, so I get to spend some more time with my Dunu DN-2000 before stuffing them into luggage...
All that I'm trying to say, is that you should be patient. At least more so than myself. I think most drops re-launch at least a couple months apart, if not more.
