bit the bullet and bought one in the last drop. For aussis this drop is not a good deal due to the expensive shipping. Now that amazon has opened in Australia, similar/same hammocks (except for the suspension system that is extra with this drop) including similar carabineers are available for around 43 aussie dollars.
Love the hammock but the shipping cost kills it for international buyers.
EatmydustDid you just cut a hole in the foot end and run the hammock through it? I've been entertaining the idea of doing that with a sleeping bag as well, but don't want to ruin my sleeping bag. How did you alter it?
HeeftyI have a quilt bag that has a draw cord at the foot box. I ran shock cord through the loops along the zipper and secured them to the carabiners at both ends.
Somehow shipping is pretty cheap from China to Europe. They don't live in Europe either. So it is possible. And actually other products from Massdrop has pretty good shipping rate as well. So it is reeeally possible.
Then don't reply if you don't know. I live in EU and have received a bunch of drops of same or even bulkier items before and shipping was less. Some drops do have unreasonable EU shipping rates and this started to be a trend recently.
Does anyone own one of these and an ENO that could compare/contrast them? I've been using my ENO doublenest for years and still like it, but would consider upgrading.
miholicI don't own the ENO but have spent a lot of time looking at them, though I do own the Ultimate from a previous drop. I doubt this would be much of an upgrade. In reality the ENO is probably the better hammock because of all the additional add-ons you can get for it like a bug net, rain fly, etc. This is pretty much just a lounging hammock, but I've been happy with its function camping this past summer. For the price it's a fantastic deal seeing as how the basic double ENO costs about twice as much, but if you're looking for a more versatile hammock, stick with the ENO because of its upgradability.
