I got these from the Kickstarter campaign some time ago and really like using them. These are lighter, much more compact and adjustable than my first set of daisy-chain tree straps from another company. I have previously also used the cinch buckle system, but I find the simple daisy-chain straps to be more my thing.

Mine haven't stretched one bit even after a night of good rain storms. You should seek to get a new pair as they are advertised not to stretch.

Was you hammock angled or flat? Used mine a couple of times no problem. I'm 180 lbs

Ultimate Hammock's site puts the max use load at 220lbs, this should be included in the specs.

cali4meYeah, you have to follow the math to get that. They already said the straps are 880 or 1600 depending on which one you get , which is a little hard to understand, right? Not many 800+ pounders that I know of that go would venture outside of their king size mattress. Try to imagine taking 20 lbs and lifting that up with some rope. Now stretch your arms out horizontally and just how hard is it now to "lift" that 20 lbs? Yeah, the effort to do so goes up exponentially, and that's exactly what happens in a hammock. Depending on how horizontal your straps end up being, you can easily exert 1000+ lbs on the straps. That's likely where some folks have had stretch issues coming into play. Give the straps some angle - 30 degrees optimal, and I'm sure there is little issue with weight or stretch.

I weigh ~450lbs. and have used both tensile strengths for a solid week at two different Boy Scout summer camps in a Clark's Jungle Hammock. The first year, I used the lighter set. The lighter set held, but I could tell that using them regularly at my weight would wear them out too fast. The next year, I switched to the heaver tensile strength. The heavier tensile strength didn't show any signs of excessive wear after that week. In my experience, these are exceptional straps and I highly recommend them.

Got one of each during the kickstarter. Tried them out on a hike and they permanently replaced my whoopie slings on both hammocks. They are a bit heavier than the whoopies, but only by about 2 ounces. The ease of setup when tired, out performs the amsteel and is worth the weight penalty. Small enough to pack into my existing hammock sack. The bag is nice and all. Just ended up in a box with all the other bags that gear comes in, and serves no purpose for me past shipping. Atlas straps are $30. These will out perform atlas any day. The only thing to improve these strap, is if they were made in the US.

Sharkbait924Agreed... I love whoopie slings in theory, but the adjustment always seems a tiny bit annoying. Or get stuck and require some wiggling.

Got the 800 straps a week ago-ish, and tried them out this weekend. Got a pair of 12KN Wise Owl carabiners from Amazon. Wanted to go out in the rain to test my set-up and Saturday morning did not disappoint, rained for a solid 3-1/2 hours, moderate to heavy, starting about 4:30 AM.
Initial set-up is very simple of course. Sit in hammock to get everything taught, readjust, fix and eat dinner, lounge in hammock in high humidity - some stretching but likely from the nylon 10 ft double hammock, readjusted the tension but in hindsight I should have moved the strap up the tree instead because the ridgeline was pretty tight. Went to sleep like this, temps in the 60's, I might max out at 190 lbs with whatever I wear and put on or in the hammock, 9 hours in the hammock with a couple of nature calls, and including the 3-1/2 hours of rain, didn't end up on the ground - in fact everything stayed exactly the same as far as I could tell.
So far very happy with the investment. The previous suspension was a whoopee/polyester tree strap combo and the number of tension/height adjustments I have to make when I use that is usually 2-3 in humid conditions, once again I suspect the stretch in the system comes from the nylon fabric in the hammock.

Any chance of adding more availability for the 1600lb tensile version? Seems like that's the one that people want since it's currently sold out.

gimpsterI have the same request. I went to join the drop, only to see the 1600 sold out. I'm want to get them for my friend as an upgrade. I guess I'll have to get them online or something or go with a different brand.

I bought these when they launched them on Kickstarter. I've used them once and ended up on the ground in the morning from stretching. Not something that is pleasant when it's 5°F outside. I weight 165-175 depending on season and training, so nowhere near the capacity load of 220. These have been delegated my 5 year old's setup for when she wants to hang. Can't trust them myself.

MouseskowitzMaybe someone can confirm this with a real life measurement but on their kickstarter page I think somewhere it said that the 1" portion was about 4' long (or that the thin part was 6')
