I'm curious if anyone here has experience with a more recent model of this hammock and straps than the ones from 2 years ago. I've seen a few positive posts, and just as many if not more negatives. I have multiple hammocks, friends discover how much they like sleeping in one on camping trips and often take home whatever I let them borrow. So I like finding deals where I can.
This one being made in the US is a big selling point for me, and if the straps really weigh under 3 ounces, then IMO it's a pretty light setup, about like the new ENO SL straps.
So at the price listed it sounds good, but what is the actual shipping cost within the lower 48?
Didnt shipping prices used to be listed there by the selling price?
Unless I totally missed something, it's not there, and i don't want to hit the join button until I know. If it's really $23 as mentioned below, I'm out.
Ryan28801So far so good. Im loving my new hammock and straps. The steel carabiners are eh. Cant find anything wrong with it so far. Stiching is good on both the straps and the hammock. The size and weight is also perfect for me.
If you are an ultralight backpacker, check out Hummingbird Hammocks double for lots more room at half the weight. I love hammock camping in a Double Nest ENO, but want to shave weight.
The tensile strength rating of 800lb. is a little misleading for these straps. Tensile strength does not really translate to theoretical weight load within the hammock that should be available. I think it would be good to include that on Ultimate Hammock's website they suggest no more than 220lb. in your hammock when using these straps.
NatyNatebecause of the margins & profit. My company is getting hammocks made to use as promotional gifts. $17 landed cost each after you figure out shipping and construction.
Very disappointed with this drop. I ordered 2 and the shipping even said 2 but only received 1. The packaging was only big enough for 1 so 1 didn't get lost. Now I'm told I'll have to wait another 3-4 weeks if they can even find one in stock. Very disappointed and will probably go with someone else next time.
