I think some of the trouble here comes down to brand recognition. I mean, people are willing to drop signficant money on a Ducky YOTH board, for instance. But people know and love Ducky. And Ducky makes a point to try and justify the higher price tag for their special editions (just look at their video for it). I'm not trying to discourage Varmilo from trying new things - in fact, I have commended them several times for offering such a variety of switch types, case colors and cap options. These are things that people want, something that we need to see more of, not less. I'm also very excited about the VB660M, which I sincerly hope will show up on MD in the very near future.
The trouble with this drop, and the subsquent price tag is that, in as far as I know, Varmilo is still a new brand. Basically the only place to find information on them that isn't in Chinese is here at MD. If they want to offer the MD community first dibs at a new and awesome board, I think that is great, and I highly encourage that. But they must have known the price was going to be hard to get by for a lot of people, particluarly when they have a *very* similar board minus the CNC case (which I do admit adds significant value) for $110 listed on MD right now.
