Don't do it... Drop WILL NOT HONOR THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY
It has been 11 months and 24 days to the day I purchased two sets of these shoes. I purchased two so I could alternate them in colors and still have the same style of shoe to wear for work every day. I'd say I split their duty about 50/50 and my job isn't particularly abusive to shoes; it just involves a lot of walking through warehouses, and into/out of my office area. That said, one pair of these shoes has developed a quality defect. One of the eyelets at the very top of the shoe has started to separate from the body and it is one of the pair that are the final cinch point before tying. I logged into Drop, downloaded my transaction receipt, and submitted the warranty claim to the manufacturer. Vasque is owned and managed by Red Wing shoes. Their site claims a 12 month warranty period from the date of purchase but the warranty must be submitted through the original point of purchase (Drop in this case). So, I took the manufacturer's statement and submitted the claim through Drop. Their immediate response; denied! This is their loophole to avoid ever having to support the actual products and claims of poor quality. They are not an authorized dealer for Red Wing nor Vasque. They purchase inventory from an AD, then resell it with the stipulation of only offering a paltry 30 days from date of purchase for submitting a warranty claim. They have no desire to honor the original manufacturer's warranty claim and do not care to offer true support to the customer with a valid complaint. They are obviously only in this for profit margin and product turnover rate. Warranty claims directly interfere with both of those, so why bother honoring them? They pay lip service to those seeking claims with an "I'm sorry you had a bad experience but we don't honor that warranty; better luck next time." Thanks for your money... Never again Drop and never again Vasque/Red Wing!
