In 1891, when Victorinox founder and master cutler Karl Elsener supplied the Swiss Army with its standard-issue soldier’s knife, little did he know he’d be laying the foundation for one of the most trusted names in the watch and cutlery industries. The Officer’s Chronograph is built with the same attention to detail and quality as any Swiss Army Knife—and it’s got a fair amount of function, to boot Read More
the band clasp on mine keeps popping open and likely to one day fall off my wrist and break on the ground.
MD can you or Victorinox provide replacement band. thanks.
Just got mine in the mail from this drop. Looks completely awesome in person. That being said, either I'm an idiot or I got a defective piece. Nothing is moving on it? I set the time, nothing, no movement. Do they come without a battery? Either the battery is dead, there's not one in it, it's defective, or I'm missing something here. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
MrMikevisit a jewelers and get a new battery if the watch is dead, they're usually around $15
also note that the large hand on the watch doesn't keep the time and instead acts as a timer, it's not supposed to move unless you want it to
A few things to be aware of: the word "Chronograph" covers a multitude of meanings, and should not be confused with a "Chronometer," which is an entirely different beast. Thus comparing this watch to a Rolex is not only unfair, it is absurd, as one is a chronograph, the other is a chronometer, and the only thing both would have in common is that they will indeed give you the time of day. (More or less, though this watch is likely to be significantly more accurate than the Rolex.) For example, I have a chronograph that has three dials that tell me the day of the week, the date, and the 24-hour time. The additional functions on a Chronograph are referred to as "complications," (not intended in a bad way,) This is a nice watch, and the fact that it is no longer being offered by Victorinox is why it doesn't carry the mfr. warranty. It's still a good watch, and the $795 MSRP is legit, for when the watch was current stock by Victorinox. Now, the real question is: do you need a Chronograph? Most people don't, but they like the dials on the watch, and think it makes them look important, or something. From the looks of it, this chronograph will give you stopwatch functions that will give you the seconds and minutes up to 30, good enough for most instances. If you need such a stopwatch, by all means buy this. It's a very good watch; the quartz movement will keep accurate time, and even if it isn't current stock, it's one really good bargain at this price. If, however, all you're looking for is a watch, (i.e., time of day and the date,) you might wish to look elsewhere.

JOSEPHRGRECOYou will probably have to contact the manufacturer. In general, when I buy a used watch with a bracelet, I ask for the length and if the bracelet is "fully linked". A fully linked bracelet has either not been shortened (by taking links out), or the links that have been taken out are include with the watch. My experience is that most bracelets are 8-81/2 inches. Extra links are sometimes availabl, but they can be expensive. Good luck.
