After reading Jakes comment I'm not to keen on this system since I have a lot of thin blades like spyderco. I also don't want to spend 1000$+ on everything necessary.
Is there any other systems that are better than the wicked edge that improve on the downsides of the wicked edge as mentioned in Jakes post? I might just stick with diamond stones and strops

anonomousDon't get me wrong, the WE is a good system that gets the job done, but it's not a "set it and use it" kind of system... You need to practice with it, especially if you have zero experience sharpening knives. But once you get it down, you can sharpen pretty much anything on it. Full-flat ground blades (like many Spyderco offerings) will require you working around that particular quirk in the clamping system, but once you learn to work around it, the results are great. And again, this base system will give you crazy sharp results without buying anything else... but if you are looking for a mirrored edge, this base system won't get you there; you'll need to invest in the finer stones and strops.

HowAmIKME will cost me $265 for everything I want for it. What are its downsides? And how does it compare to the wicked edge?

anonomousIt doesn't have any downsides, it's far more versatile than anything from Wicked Edge the owner will be more than happy to tell you what you need and don't need
