should be called rayon wool felt, as there is not much wool in it. The colors are nice, tho.
Would this pack be good for felt ornaments?? That is my purpose..... I thought only wool should be used for appliqué??quilt

This is perfect for ornaments. Wool felt doesn't do well with washing and drying, so ornaments are ideal.

Yes same thing is gapping when I tried the sew steady table but it may be a closed drop?
DianneA
that drop is still live too. I am going to send you an email.
Can anyone who has this speak to whether it could be used for wool applique? Or would it only be good for craft purposes?
Chibibenz
Hi @ChibibenzI have the kit at the office and can say that it would be good for wool applique. The wool felt has the same thickness as polyester felt but it's much denser. It's also much stronger and barely stretches at all. Hope that helps!

Great news group! We placed the order shortly after the drop ended and the vendor has let us know that it's already been picked up and is on its way to our warehouse now. Based on the tracking provided these are scheduled to come in 11/27. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.
Sometimes shipments get delayed en route, not to worry as we will keep the group posted throughout the process and notify you all if anything causes delay.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 11/30 or sooner if something comes up.
Can you tell me how thick this felt is? The picture of the stack of colors looks like it is thinner than the felt rolled up. I am also wondering how pliable it is? Does it roll easily?
CeciBee23
Hi @CeciBee23The image of the stacked felt is definitely more representative and it is easily pliable/rollable.
Based on the tracking provided, these are scheduled to come in 11/3. Our warehouse team has been forwarded tracking info and will be standing by, ready to get these packed up and turned around as soon as they come in.

I've gotten some really good deals from Massdrop but in this case, I think this etsy seller https://www.etsy.com/shop/BenzieDesign?ref=l2-shopheader-name has comparable prices to this offer, or slightly better, depending on the collection you pick. (disclaimer: I have no relation to this etsy seller except as a customer.)

I'm looking forward to receiving my pack here in Australia. I have never worked with felt before but have lots of ideas pinned on Pinterest so I can't wait to get started! Mainly glasses cases, flowers and leaves for embellishments and appliqués for my bags and iPad cases. It will be interesting to see how the wool blend wears.
Hi @joyous and @DianeB
I believe Heather included the price of the felt pack and the pattern to come up with 33% off. The 28% off we have listed is based on the retail of just the felt pack since we've included the roses pattern as a free gift.
Hope that helps! -Sandy
SandyLucas
Thanks, Sandy! I do think Heather's wording was misleading even though I'm certain that was not her intention. She mentioned 33% off the felt and that the color chart and pattern would be beyond that. I'm still happy with the purchase. It's only a 5% difference. It'll be fun making projects with my little girl this winter.
First-timer here, so please forgive any ignorance! Heather Bailey mentioned in her newsletter that the savings would be 33% off the wool pack. It's listed so far that we are at the lowest price at only 28% off. Is that right? Thanks for the help! Joy
Joyous
I was wondering the same thing.
I would also prefer a pack of 100% wool felt.
Hi! One of our members brought up a good point that the felt in this pack contains more rayon then wool. Here's a great article on the differences between wool, acrylic and wool-blend felt if you're not sure which one is right for you.

-Sandy
With only 20-35% wool is really a rayon blend with a little wool! Not really a wool blend.

Hi @Rosies-nanna
Thanks for the call out! You are correct that there is more rayon in the blend then wool but we've only seen the description of wool-blend used. The description also ties back to the poll that was created and we want to make sure that whoever participated in the poll knows it's the same item they unanimously voted on.
Do you prefer using 100% wool for your projects? Do you find it is easier to work with? Let us know and post pictures of your projects. We love to see what our community members are working on!

Thank you for the reply. I use wool felt because it wears well and doesn't pill or fluff up. As I put a lot of effort into the embroidery I want it to last. I tried to attach a photo one of my wool felt quilts but the website won't let me attach it here . I'm sure the rayon/wool would be good for other uses.
