Easy to work with, this 100-percent wool yarn is rich in character and offers excellent stitch definition. It hails from the town of Arequipa, home to Peru’s vibrant commercial textile industry. It’s here that the yarn comes for grading (separating the best useable fiber from the waste), scouring (washing away the grease and foreign matter), carding (combing so the fibers align), spinning, dyeing, and plying. Only the finest of this clip is used for Woolstok. This worsted-weight yarn is strong and sturdy, and it’s gently plied to give it loft, lightness, and a soft hand. The mélange of colors is achieved through fiber dyeing before the yarn is spun. It’s then blended to create a unique look.
Note: This drop is for a 50-gram skein of yarn with the option to order a set of five 50-gram skeins (+ $20). You’ll also have the option of purchasing a 150-gram skein (+ $10) or a set of five 150-gram skeins (+ $70). The 50-gram skeins come in 15 different colors, while the 150-gram skeins come in five different colors.

“Creating consciously crafted fibers and patterns is more than just our focus, it’s our passion. Ever since we started with a small herd of alpacas in our backyard, we’ve been committed to making yarn in the best way possible to show off its natural beauty. And while our exclusive offerings have grown beyond alpaca to include wool, organic cotton, and silk, our desire for getting makers of all stripes excited about natural fibers and knitting hasn’t changed one bit. It all winds back to the yarn, ensuring that every precious, handmade hank is lovingly filled with endless inspiration.”
