This is absolutely fantastic. A Hot-swappable PCB that isn't -just- three pin, but allows for a much, much wider array of switches without having to actually destroy those switches. I hope the five-pin set-up becomes standard for non-optical hot-swappable boards going forward.

GK61 or GK64 have 5 pin and are 60%. You can get them on Banggood or AliExpress.

This keyboard kit is all about its profile. Offered as "a low-profile aluminum case". ... and we have got only one profile photo. I see, it is better than nothing, but would you mind adding side/profile photos from different angles?

That's weird, X-Bows didn't announce an new model anywhere, and I'm seeing it here for the first time? Is this a legit production from X-Bows? In any case if it's a leak that's interesting that they're diversifying their offer beyond ergo keyboards, theirs is, in my experience and my taste, the best one out there.

OtaKI'm a big fan of my ergo from them as well. (No, it's not perfect, but it's great for my needs.) I hadn't heard of this coming out either.

TommySezSoWhatSo I emailed them to check if it's legit and they confirmed that it actually is their new keyboard and that it went out on partner sellers first. @Cyphre This is legit, they confirmed to me that it is a knight body with a new PCBA assembly.

Aloucious you re completely right, usb-c is way better than flimsy mini usb , but still kind a flimsy compared to a USB B or mini XLR type. BTW, have a nice 2021

DougHeisenberchMini XLR is probably very durable although to be fair I don't know much about that connector and I am not sure if it can be used for a keyboard. Keyboards only really use usb-c and mini usb. Most new keyboards use usb-c since it is more durable, smaller, and can transfer more power. The power transfer is a bigger point for a lot of newer keyboards since some older keyboards couldn't do per key RGB since mini usb couldn't power it. I won't say anything to the quality of this specific keyboard as I mostly wanted to point out that usb-c is the best connector for keyboards. Also, I hope we can all have a good 2021. I think we all need it after the 2020 we had.

From what I've gathered while sifting through X-Bows' subreddit, most of the complaints are from people who couldn't get used to the layout of their ergo keyboards, with the lack of official macOS/Linux support being in a distant second place. Seems as though their build quality is pretty solid, overall. I'm still on the fence, personally. If this ran QMK or proper support for non-Windows OS's (I rarely use Windows anymore) I would have already ordered one. If you primarily run Windows, however, this seems like a far better option than the GMMK TKL.

Can anyone help me with the drivers for this product? I can't seem to find a driver that works with the keyboard and whenever I click on the drivers link in the drop website it brings me to a google drive download that doesn't exist.

Can you put CHOC low profile switches on these? or do you need adapter for it?

yyoonI don't think that'll work as the pins of Choc switches are not in the same spot as they are on MX style switches

QMK? Also, magnetic feet + aluminum construction? I must be missing something.

penguinairlinesThere is a drive link with the software look like it is something proprietary and not qmk.

It uses the same software as all the other gh gk60 series boards. Not horrible not gmk. So you can do layers and custom rgb. It's not a heavy kit but with good stabs and switches I get no rattle. I'm using zeal v2s on alphas n mods and box navy's on the functions. For a floating design its solid. At this price it's a steal with hot swap n smd rgb

mazzafoxhttps://drop.com/buy/drop-carina-mechanical-keyboard-kit?utm_source=linkshare&referer=4HLGN4 You can def make any keys you want on here to be your arrow key. Personally I'd go with this acrylic case, RGB backlit and underlit PCB (supports both plate and PCB mount switches) . And you can choose between an aluminum, brass, or copper plate depending on what you prefer, Or order all 3 plates with the keeb and try them all out. But its only $100 + 20 for a plate. And this keyboard is headed in the direction of like the Drop ALT and CNTRL, but they plan to have different case options at some point and maybe even a 65%. But this is def worth $100 for a QMK programmables hotswap (3 or 5 pin switch supported unlike the ALT/CNTRL) and kinda neat they are starting to give choices of plate material etc.
