I own the Titanium Ridge Wallet. Despite some shortcomings I love the design. I find myself constantly playing with it, even after owning it for a year. I do not find it hard to use, although that is a valid point for some, and I did not have any issues with screws coming off yet. The Ridge Wallet comes with a Torx screwdriver in case this does happen.
I paid over a hundred dollars for the Titanium version, and maybe that is overkill. And there are cheaper options. But I hate supporting knock offs. Please pay more for the original designers if possible. It's one thing to see it on Amazon with the millions of Chinese knock off listings, but its disappointing to see Drop endorsing knock-offs.
I won't judge if you only care about getting things cheap despite it being knock offs, but doing a group buy for a knock off is on another level of cheapo.
Also it’s real carbon fiber. You can tell by looking closely at it. People claiming it isn’t due to it scratching are ignorant of the fact that Carbon fiber falls as a 2 on the Mohs hardness scale. Meaning it scratches fairly easily.
If I saw the conversations about every drop they've done being late I wouldn't have ordered. I didn't get an email but apparently they've sent them to some of the purchasers some of the time in the past to let people know the status. Did anyone get one by chance?
clevernameI got this email the other day: "Due to an unexpected delay, these orders may ship later than the original estimated ship date. Our apologies for any inconvenience. If we find that the launch is going to be delayed by more than 30 days, we will let you know. If you would prefer to cancel your order, please contact Community Support using the “Contact Support” button on your transactions page and our Community Support Team will be able to help cancel your order up until it is ready for shipment."
I ordered around the first week of October, with the ship date set at around October 30th. Not sure if this is helpful, but it's something.
Omnidasjust got the following: It has been brought to our attention that the item you ordered has become back-ordered, and we do not know if more inventory will become available. Disappointing for sure, but at least they're trying to make it right.
I own one of these and they are not great. Their cool for about 20 seconds. Cards are dificult to get out of the wallet when in line, they all come out together and are dificult to get back in sometimes. It lasted about 4 months before the screws started to come out of the carbon fiber face. (One is now lost due to this) The screws are tiny and are not noticed unless you search your pocket very VERY hard.
It is not worth 13 as I paid 9.99 on Amazon for mine. (Its exactly the same)
I would stay away as you cannot remove the clip, the cards come out together and are very dificult to get back in, and it will fall apart quickly. (FYI they know it falls apart as they give you extra screws. Oh, and their Torx screws and need an especially small head that is not found in most HD or Lowes torx packages)
YugbeYou CAN remove the clip. I asked that same question up at the top of this comment section, and the buying manager shows several pics showing the clip can easily be removed without leaving an unwanted gap from removal of it.
YugbeThe carbon layer on mine took all of 3 weeks to fall off. By the time I noticed, screws were long gone. Thread locker Red would be a fix, when you still have your screws.
Cheap knockoff of a Ridge wallet, kind of surprised it isn't a copyright infringement and taken of the market. Maybe drop is gonna turn into a bootleg marketplace.
About 2 years ago, When I saw this CX wallet provided RFID protection, I bought it. For function over fashion. All the girly wallets are large, for handbag carrying. Their RFID protection is crinkly and flimsy. I operate on a military base, so handbags (purse) aren't always an option. And the Price! Forget about it. You spend more on coffee. Others use the label "Carbon Fiber" as a selling point to add to the price. Don't fall for it. This is the real deal. I know. I used to work around the carbon fiber wing factory in Everett, Wa. Not cheap plastic with clever imagery. The clip is for your bill's, don't clip it to your pocket like a knife. It's not designed for that. Over the years, I've never had a screw go missing, or troubles with scratching. The elastic gives, but has not given way. It has the same bad ass integrity from when it was new. It is a bit of a pain to pull out cards from the middle. I strategically place the ones I use the most in the front/top or back/bottom so when I push them out, it's easy to grab it. I also have my most used CC and Enhanced DL in a protected sleeve, so I pull them out together, but they are still RFID protected outside of the wallet at POP. If you want it, you prolly need it. What are you waiting for. Join the Drop & get it!
