What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. Who from the states has actually used this service? Can anyone give any clue as to their reputation? I would by from massdrop in a heartbeat at any price if they had a top plate I could use in my 60% case.
For background, AliExpress is part of Alibaba, China's biggest online market. AliExpress is geared to individual sales and has payment escrow policies. Buyers should really check the reputation of the specific seller before purchasing. Overall, it's about on par with Ebay, in my experience. I would never want to use it for something truly expensive. I've used it for perhaps a dozen purchases in the last year for small electronics and boards (typically under $100/transaction) and haven't been shafted by any sellers or phished. Of course, the plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data', so YMMV.
