Is this any better than some of the BenQ or Epson 1080p I can get (refurbished) for around the same price? Any recommendations? Just got a 100" screen.

NotThatCoolI think you would be better off with something like the BenQ HT2050A or the Epson HomeCinema 1060. Both options have about 3x more lumens and much better contrast ratios, and there’s just more info and reviews on them compared to this. The other options also seem to have more input options available if that’s a concern. On the other hand, this one has 4K upscaling and HDR whereas I’m not sure the others have that. I’m still planning on going with the BenQ or Epson myself though.

KalinakonaYeah, when the price is similar, I'd go name brand. I've had an Optima HD20 for years now that I picked up super cheap on closeout and it still works well, even with something close to 2400 hours on the original lamp. Should have gotten a replacement bulb to store when they were still cheap, though. After a while, the price for a drop in assembly skyrocketed so I'd have to order the bulb itself through a medical lighting supplier and that's kind of annoying to deal with for a single unit

J.redcornOptoma has a great lineup of projectors! The HD27, 29, and 143x are all great options. I think the only thing they might be lacking in that price range is a horizontal keyston correction, but other features of theirs are superior to the previous ones I listed. You should be able to get another 2400 lamp hours out of your bulb no problem I would think, and by then you may want to upgrade anyways so I wouldn’t sweat it. Would love to see massdrop give a deal on a mainstream option.
