Product Description
For competition-grade performance with a galactic twist, try the Star Wars Glide from Yomega. Built with a wide, lipped gap, this yo-yo is easy to catch on the string for complicated tricks and combos Read More
The two bearings that come with the yoyo are the same width so why is there a longer and a shorter axle supplied with it? What is the shorter axle for?
The unresponsive bearing is sloped toward the middle of the bearing surface so that the string will stay in the middle of the bearing, the responsive bearing is flat and not dipped. To change the bearing simply take the string off and unscrew the yoyo, you may then need to use the circular part of a pair of pliers to pull the bearing off. Then you simply put the new bearing in, screw the yoyo back together, and put the string back on.

Hi folks,
I am very sorry to hear that some of your axels broke! We have contacted the vendor and they have let us know that they can ship replacement bearings or axels (whichever broke). We will ship these all out in one batch so please reach out to us before October 16th at Support@massdrop.com. Thanks for your support everyone!
Definitely the wrong bearing shipped with mine. The Konkave shipped on the yoyo is fine. The other one is not wide enough and the string binds around the axle inside the bearing. Ruined my axle trying to make it work. Somebody should make this right.
As much as these cost, they should ship everyone a new axle and the appropriate bearing.
... so no response? At least two of us have minorly damaged our purchases due to lack of instruction and possibly the wrong pieces having been sent out. Could you at least acknowledge the issue? Is the responsive bearing supposed to be half the width of the Dif-E KonKave bearing?
Got mine, and it is pretty sweet. Never had an unresponsive yoyo before, so it's a bit to get used to. That said, I think I'm getting decently proficient at binding, and having far lesser chance of the yoyo smacking you in the face while trying to do something is a big plus. (Even though I've already hit myself in the face quite hard after having it for only two days.) I think I'm going to have to get some lube soon, though, as the bearing sounds quite grindy.
K so how do I change to the responsive kit? I don't want to force it but I can't seem to remove the responsive bearing with my bare fingers.
edit: Okay I figured out that I needed to use a bearing removal tool, an Allen wrench worked fine. Now that I'm trying the responsive bearing, though, I'm not sure it's the right size. There's a definite gap to one side of the bearing and I don't think I can force it tighter closed, though I can try if that's the solution. Did you send me the wrong size bearing or do I just not understand how to do this?
Yeah I really don't think this responsive axle is the right one. I overtightened mine a bit before giving up and I didn't break anything but there is a tiny bulge in the exterior of one side. Kind of miffed that there were no instructions offered and apparently the wrong hardware was supplied.
That said, now that I've actually started using the unresponsive bearing it's pretty awesome. It is quite loud, but I've already ordered lube which should hopefully fix that.
