I really want to pick this up for a trip I have planned on the 23rd. I know it says it ships early September, so it should be fine, but I do get paranoid knowing Massdrop. I guess it just depends on whether they use FedEx or DHL =P
I have an 18 hour flight, so I'm definitely looking for a massive powerbank. Will be walking around Tokyo for two weeks, so I will likely have a backpack on me all the time anyways. Is 20k about the highest I'm gonna get, or are there even beefier ones? I will do some research, but figured I'd get a conversation started in here as well!

SeelenYou just missed the bigger Zendure A8PD 26,800mAh power bank by a couple of weeks. I have one coming and the estimated Ship Date is suppose to be today. Who knows how long after that it will take to get here. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/zendure-a8pd-26800-mah-usb-c-powerbanks
However, If you go for this one, you might be pleased with the balance between capacity and weight. I have several 30,000mAh power banks and would not want to be carrying them around all day. Besides, you're likely not to need that much capacity in a single day. I use them for my notebook. If I need one just for our phones, then I'll take along a 10,000 mAh which is plenty for two phones and an iPad Mini.

SeelenDon’t the airlines have restrictions now on maximum capacity for these power banks? You might want to look into that just to be sure you don’t get a nasty surprise at the airport.
Beyond that, the way we’ve bastardized the units of measure with these things just kills me. “20K mAh” LOL.
I think I’ll market one that has a 20 million nano amp hour capacity. That will really impress people. :-D

Major_InfidelThat's a really great point. Thanks so much. I don't know why I didn't think of that! Not as though it'd be a big deal or anything, but, you know, I'd rather not have to throw away $50 and lose my charge in the process!

Seelennot sure if anyone has let you know this yet but planes which fly that length all have power (AC and USB) in every row so...kinda no need for a power bank for a flight.

JDATI was operating under that assumption, but felt it would still be really useful. Especially if there are shared ports. I didn't spring for business or first class (it was an extra $3k!), So it may not have a port for each person in the row.
Also, I am going to be exploring Tokyo with no real plans or itinerary, so I may be gone for long periods of time. I realize it's a high tech city that probably has charging stations, but I don't want to take any chances. If my phone dies, my GPS dies, and that would be scary as fuck

SeelenDefinitely a good idea to have a powerbank (or three) on hand while traveling, especially abroad. Also, to answer your original question (I'm sure it's too late, but maybe helpful for posterity), the maximum powerbank size allowed in planes is 100 W-h, which generally works out to ~27000 mAh. Zendure also makes one closer to that size, but honestly, 20k mAh is plenty for most applications, and the form factor of this particular device makes it really easy to slide into a back pocket along with the phone it's charging, so I've had a great experience with it so far. Also, if anyone is wondering, yes, this model can charge up to a 2017 15" MacBook Pro via the USB-C port (charges at the full 45 W).
