Ordered it, then canceled when I realized it said copper finish, not made from copper or solid copper. Why would you not sell a real copper one? Needless to say, unless it’s real copper, I’m out.
This is why I had to put the breaks on this drop also... I too, am quite the copper fan with EDC items made of copper (usually not carrying all in copper tho, but use them to accent other colors/items)... Anyway, if this were real copper with no clear coat (or maybe just some coat that would still allow for decent levels of patina), I would certainly jump in!! I do like the antique look of this shell, but I would be more satisfied with a copper Zippo that I could watch develop its own character...
Amazon is $17.60 with Prime, I get it in 2 days and free shipping. The last few things I wanted to buy were less expensive on Amazon and I get it in 2 days. Massdrop needs to start checking out the competition. The deals aren't what they used to be.
Same zippo is $17.60 on amazon and if you have prime it has free one day shipping.
also....not copper. Not even copper plated.
thanks, but no thanks mass drop
Copper plating uses electrolysis to literally plate a metal with actual copper; a copper finish is just a finish on metal made to resemble copper....short answer....it’s not copper
kar211psu"Antique Copper lighters are finished with a reddish, bright metallic luster and is accompanied by the weathered look of a well-beloved lighter. Each Antique Copper lighter is identified by a peel-off label and protected by a long-wearing clear coat to preserve the antique look."
The lighter part is said to be "Original Windproof Lighter" but the photos show some sort of push-to-ignite lighter. So, what's the truth? Which one's in this lighter and if it's not the one in the photos... why put those photos?
AristarcoThe lighter comes with the "original windproof lighter" inside. There is an option at checkout to add a single or double torch butane insert from zippo in addition to the original lighter.
k15goosefill it up, it evaporates. you also might need to repack the wick like a snake through the cotton fill. pull the guts out using tweezers- its on youtube if you need clarity.
As much as I love a good Zippo with flint/wick/fluid...I never have lighter fluid around whenever I run out and they don't make the bottom of Zippos cotton padding as thick as they used to where fluid would last over a month. But I personally recommend a Vector butane torch insert, and now Zippo makes them. (I refill it probably once a month with every day use) or my new favorite the plasma dual arc Zippo inserts. Basically the same thing as two mini tazers that make an "X" with 2 arcs. And it will light anything instantly. And is definitely wind proof. Also comes with a tiny magnetic usb to micro USB cable that fits in your wallet for charging. Def worth the $20. Also does anyone know if the plain copper selection is also an armor casing series or just the engraved ones?
