Where are the photos of headphones made with zebrawood? Zebrawood should have very distinctive wide grain patterns that are very in high-contrast. These images barely show grain, relatively speaking. And why in the heck would any one put an orange dye on zebrawood. Zebrawood is one wood that can stand on its own merit without be mucked with. Just some poly or oil is enough. I have used zebrawood for several projects including stocks for long guns and side plates for 1911A semi-auto. None of my zebrawood has had a look as presented by these photos.
Hey oldgearhead, thanks for checking out the drop! I admittedly sent MassDrop a "cleaner" looking set of ZebraWood with less prominent grain so that it would photograph evenly. One of the beautiful things about wood is the variance, so some of our wood has bolder grain and some is lighter. Zebra-Wood stains exceptionally well due to its pore structure, so when stained the colors are bright and vibrant as shown by the photo's. You ofcourse can get the wood unstained or stained however you'd like through our website - zmfheadphones.com. I really love how the Rusted Zebra sets turned out, I'm sorry they aren't to your liking, hopefully we can get something more to your aesthetic taste next time!

Hahah yeah varnish is very beautiful. I only do it upon special request for the same cost of staining these days as it takes around 10-12 hand wiped coats of the stuff after sealer to get the job done. It's a very fulfilling process though. Definitely email me through the website if ever interested.
