I was excited to see this come up as I've been considering a ZPacks tent for an upcoming Patagonia trip. Unfortunately, with shipping and tax (CA), this drop is more expensive than buying direct from ZPacks.

sydney_waffaZpacks is based in Florida and is only required to tax Floridians. Massdrop is based in California so we must tax any product shipped here, though we don't tax anything shipped to Florida. @sydney_waffa

Dr.LizardoI have read the above comments stating Free shipping and Florida based so no Ca Tax. But what about the $14.00 shipping fee listed next to the price on the top right of this page. I would like to hear from someone at Massdrop about this subject regarding taxes and shipping fees .

It's true that Zpacks offers free US shipping on all orders above $100, we do not. To be clear, this drop is the best benefit for people from Florida, still the best price for everyone in other 48 states and internationally, and not so go for those of us from California. It's a combination of price, tax and shipping. Thanks!
