Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. They are over ear. Has a removable cable (package includes 2 cables) and you can also replace the earpads. Impedance is 47 ohms, so no need to worry about adding a headphone amp. They are closed back and their price is exactly $99 in Amazon right now!

Now if you'd be able to stretch your budget a little bit, you could get the ATH-M50x which are currently discounted at $139. This is a pair of headphones that I've owned in the past so can talk about it, unlike the M40x. But all in all either option would make a really nice gift without breaking the bank and still sound much better than most headphones around their price.
