If I was on a desert island Massdrop HD 6XX is the answer. But if I'm at work (like I am much of the time ;) my Shure 1540s are the thing. Super comfortable, can wear for hours without fatigue. Great neutral reproduction, pairs really well with a Schiit Mini. Closed back to keep the office noise out -- great isolation! -- and keep everyone else from enjoying my music. I have a pair of vintage AKG Studio K240 Monitors (600 Ohms) that I bought in Austria many years ago, they still sound great but the cabling and elastic are shot. My original Sennheiser Momentum over ears also sound awesome but they're not comfortable, the ear cups are way too small.

xcarotenesThis is why I find this question so difficult; it requires a compromise in some areas. Choose an open-back? Well, be prepared for thoroughly annoyed fellow passengers on the plane. Choose a bluetooth ANC? You're going to miss out on truly great audio quality.
