My submission is inspired by the mighty Roland 808 drum machine.

KiryuHey man, just gonna say that this is the best keyset design I've ever seen. You did a fantastic job adapting that Roland 808 colorway, I'm no musician whatsoever but I can appreciate the design itself. I would really love to see this set come to life. You have my vote fam (obviously). Good luck to you and to all the designers in this competition.

gizmoplexThx my dude!
Even if the set doesn't come to life from this contest, I'll keep pushing for it. Glad the design appeals on its own, and hoping it hits home for everyone, especially the dj/producer/electronic music heads who clack!

KiryuThis gets my vote. What would be crazy is an ortholinear Planck style, but with an additional 4 rows for a numpad. That would give you the needed sixteen rows for the 808 sixteenth note sequencing buttons. Do it with the top row only; doubleshot with a single round hole and transparent secondary color for the underside LED to shine through. This would completely mimic the 808's most distinguishing feature (and the pricing / tooling from MD would be cheaper as it's just a single brass/bronze blank rather than 16 of them). The remaining alphas and other keys could be a combination of light and dark. That would be legendary. and I'd even bet that it would get a following with the Monome / Ableton crowd. It would be cheaper than a Monome by far, and the feels would be a million times better than its rubber dome experience.

KiryuWhat would this look like on a Planck? Any chance for a version that includes support for 40% keyboards?
