Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. And on a personal note, thank you for the Mac kit addition!
1) Those are being studied, there probably will be more options; 2) Highly doubt those will make the cut, several times before international kits let everyone down. Godspeed XDA for example sold 4 Lunar Norde Kits (the actual buy featured nearly 8k kits).
What do you think about black R4 version of existing "m-wave/pulse" novelty usable instead of M alpha key? This would make it a signature cap mixable with alphas. I think the H/J of Troubled Minds and O/C/L of Carbon do this quite well.
Besides, my bathroom has needed fixing for years... whats a few more months wait? ;)
