What is SpaceFN and why you should give it a try
The SpaceFN concept - setting up your space key as a layer switch when held - is probably one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby. Let me explain how it works. My SpaceFN article on kbd.news made some rounds recently - quite surprisingly given the age of this concept. This piece you're reading is a condensed version of the full post. If you're left with unanswered questions, you'll most likely find the info you're looking for in the original write-up. On my imaginary top list of the most useful keyboard features, tweaks and hacks, SpaceFN would deserve a podium finish for sure. But what makes it so special? In short: SpaceFN is easy to implement, easy to learn, costs nothing, can be used with any keyboard, and can improve your productivity instantly. I will list its benefits below, but can state right at this point that the SpaceFN concept, setting up your space key as a layer switch when held, is clearly one of the most useful tweaks in the keyboard hobby....

Corsair K95, Logitech G810, Razer Chroma Blackwidow, Mionix Wei and none of these would I classify as cheap as they range in price from $150-$200 dollars and none of them really made me happy, either the keycaps legends wore off, became shinny, were loose, led light going out, they all just seemed cheap and most would just throw on an aluminum chassis to give it the impression of better build quality.
I am looking for a good keyboard, I do like RGB or at least strong single color backlighting as I work in a low light room, I prefer the clicky blue switches and I do not care for the compact keyboards like the 60% or 75% I would either want a full layout or possible a tenkeyless. I can't afford a top of the line keyboard that cost hundreds of dollars i've seen some over $300 but I want something good, something I can customize the keycaps and something that will last as I am just trying to get by and cant afford keep getting new keyboards like I have been doing.
Hope to hear back from the community that can give me some good advice and thank you all in advance for anyone that reads my ramblings.
